From March 11–14, the NAIT Ooks proudly hosted the 2026 CCAA Men's Volleyball National Championship, welcoming the country's top teams to Edmonton for an unforgettable week of competition. Backed by record-breaking crowds and an electric atmosphere inside the NAIT Gymnasium, the championship showcased the very best of collegiate volleyball in Canada.

The Ooks were fueled all week by a passionate home crowd, creating a true home court advantage and an environment that elevated every match.

At the championship banquet, Josh Watson was recognized as a CCAA All-Canadian, highlighting his outstanding season and leadership on the national stage. Following the tournament, Ben Kieser was also honoured as a CCAA Second Team All-Star.

Quarterfinal

Limoilou Titans def. NAIT Ooks 3–1

The Ooks opened their tournament in a hard-fought battle against the Titans de Limoilou. Despite dropping the first two sets (25–21, 25–23), NAIT responded with a strong 25–19 third set win. In a tightly contested fourth set, the Titans edged out the Ooks 25–21 to take the match.

Josh Watson led the Ooks offensively with 17 kills, keeping the home side competitive in every set.

Bronze Quarterfinal

NAIT Ooks def. Providence Pilots 3–0

The Ooks bounced back in dominant fashion, sweeping the Providence Pilots in straight sets (25–20, 25–16, 25–20). NAIT controlled the pace from the start, showing resilience and composure to stay in medal contention.

Julien Phillips led the charge with 9 kills and 2 service aces in a strong all-around performance.

Bronze Semifinal

VIU Mariners def. NAIT Ooks 3–1

NAIT came out strong in the bronze semifinal, taking the opening set 25–19. However, the Mariners responded with three straight sets (25–23, 25–22, 25–22) to secure the win and advance.

Finn Howard delivered a standout performance with 13 kills and 2 aces, but the Ooks' tournament run came to an end just shy of the medal round.

While the Ooks fell short of the podium, their performance, resilience, and ability to compete on the national stage in front of a home crowd made for a memorable championship run.
