The NAIT Ooks men's curling team delivered a championship performance at the ACAC Curling Championship, capturing ACAC gold in dominant fashion with an 8–3 victory over the SAIT Trojans in the championship final.
The title caps off an exceptional season for the Ooks, who went undefeated in the first ACAC bonspiel before finishing 3–2 in the second to close the regular season with an impressive 8–2 record. That momentum carried through championship play, where the men once again showcased their consistency and control to secure the banner.
In addition to the team success, the Ooks earned a sweep of individual accolades. Nolan Peters was named ACAC Men's Curling Player of the Year, while head coach Karyn Flory-Simmons received ACAC Curling Head Coach of the Year honours. From the mixed team, Cody Miller was recognized as the ACAC Men's Curling Rookie of the Year.
Further highlighting the depth of the program, Anders Van Amsterdam, Matt Hannah, and Tyler Brodt were named to the ACAC All-Conference Team, meaning every member of the men's curling team received conference recognition alongside the gold medal.
With the ACAC championship secured, the Ooks will now turn their focus to the CCAA Nationals, set to take place later this month in Regina, where they'll look to continue their championship run on the national stage.
