Season Preview: 2025/26 Curling

The Curling team it's about to start a new and exciting season. With a renewed sense of purpose, unity, and ambition and a diverse roster across the men's, women's and mixed teams, the coaching staff is focused on elevating both performance and culture, setting the stage for a season defined by growth and competitive spirit.
The team's vision for the months ahead is clear, trying to bring their mental and physical perfromance beyond what has been in the past. Head coach Karynn Flory Simmons expressed: "Our main goals this season are to elevate both our technical and tactical execution so we can gain a true competitive edge." She emphasizes that while competitiveness is essential, enjoyment remains central to their philosophy. "We want to step onto the ice as fierce, confident competitors while always keeping fun, growth, and enjoyment at the core of what we do."
On the men's roster, a lot of their athletes enter the season with a lot of excitement, with experience and unfinished business. Many athletes are in their final year as student-athletes, fueling an added determination to close their trajectory in the team with the highest results.
The mixed team, meanwhile, features a promising blend of seasoned returnees and new ACAC competitors, creating an atmosphere of energy and potential.
On the women's side, emerging talent and strong commitment define the group. The head coach adds: "Our women's team is made up of talented players who are committed to coming together, building chemistry, and competing as a unified squad."
The teams also have strong assistance from new, promising athletes who bring fresh energy, outstanding potential and willingness to learn. Working on developing a progress thought the season. Hand by hand, with a strong impression.
When making progress and visualizing goals, the coaching staff prioritizes open communication, ensuring every athlete feels supported in their individual aspirations. They are encouraged to open up about what their personal goals are and how they emphasize and it aligns with what the team goals are. This culture has fostered a supportive environment where teammates push one another to achieve their best.
However, the season also brings logistical challenges. Varying school schedules mean the full roster is not always available for joint practices; despite this, the team is embracing this reality with intention. Coach Flory Simmons shares: "When we do have time as a full group, we make sure every minute counts, focusing on communication, connection, and shared reps."
Strong leadership, a united vision, and a roster eager to compete are the components of this team. If the commitment shown early on continues to build, the curling team is well-positioned to have a huge display of skills this season.
