Lewington Named CCAA All-Canadian

RED DEER, ALTA. - Mitch Lewington was named a CCAA All-Canadian on Wednesday at the CCAA Men's Volleyball Championship awards banquet in Red Deer, Alberta.

The third-year setter quarterbacked the NAIT Ooks to a 17-7 record in the ACAC North division this season, good enough for second. In doing so, Mitch racked 688 assists (8.09/set). Not only was Mitch the main artery for the Ooks offense, but he was also defensively sound recording 145 digs and 32 blocks.

Mitch is an outstanding athlete and competitor. He simply can do things with the volleyball that no other setter we've had in our program could do. He amazes us daily with his abilities. Quiet and humble, Mitch shows up every day and puts in a solid effort. A strong student, Mitch finished the first semester with a 3.8 GPA," said NAIT head coach, Doug Anton.

Mitch is a third-year Architectural Technology student from Perth, Western Australia. Before playing joining the Ooks, he was a member of the Australian Junior National Team.
