Ooks shutout by Kings

EDMONTON, Alta. - The NAIT Ooks men's hockey team fell to the RDC Kings 1-0 on Saturday night in the NAIT Arena.

This was a battle of the goaltenders as both played solid. Arik Weersink recorded a 30 save shutout for the Kings, while his counterpart Jordan Papirny made 25 of 26 saves.

Both teams battled back and forth for the entire game. The first goal didn't come until early in the second period. With a delayed penalty and an extra King's attacker, Jacob Wazney slid a cross-ice pass to Kyle Salaway, who then fired past Jordan Papirny to give RDC a 1-0 lead. That would be the lone goal as the Ooks were unable to generate enough offense to tie the game.
